Shannons
Shannons was the brainchild of the late Robert Shannon who created an insurance business in the early seventies run by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts. Its insurance product is specially tailored to individual needs and relies on direct contact with clients rather than through other agents or brokers.
Today Shannons has offices in all state capitals, the ACT and Northern Territory. Across Australia Shannons is the first choice of motoring enthusiasts when it comes to insuring their special cars, motorcycles and homes as well as the day to day cars of owners.
The Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre (TRECC) is located just 6 kilometres from the city centre on the New England Highway and is within walking distance to good accommodation, retail and hospitality outlets.
TRECC seats 4,800 in the main hall and 1,800 in lyric mode (see below for more seating options). There are separate break-out rooms and meeting areas off the main auditorium. It boasts superior audio and visual technology, catering and bar areas, green rooms and flexible stage configurations.
Tamworth is a beautiful, vibrant and prosperous regional city of approximately 500km north of Sydney and 600km south of Brisbane; the city covers 184 sq km and is home to nearly 50,000 people. Tamworth is the "capital city" of the New England North West region of NSW, serving around 182,000 people.
It is the hub of a regional council of about 58,000 people who live in the city or in the towns of Barraba, Manilla Bendemeer and Nundle. The Tamworth Regional area is about three times the size of Sydney basin or about the same as Lake Eyre.
Rotary Club of Tamworth West is fortunate to have a sound and diverse active membership of some 70 plus members. These members are united in their dedication to raising funds and providing services to assist and help those in the local and surrounding communities less fortunate than themselves.
To this end Rotary Club of Tamworth West organises and participates in a number of local projects and fundraising services including, Midnight Basketball, Shannons Classic Motor Show and The Art Show.
